GlobalMed Outreach Uganda operates in rural areas where power outages disrupt healthcare services. Inventors was brought in to install a hybrid solar energy system for a health centre in the Rwenzori region.
The system combined 5kW of solar panels, lithium battery storage, and automatic grid switching to ensure reliable power for lights, refrigeration, and medical equipment.
Post-installation, the facility reported zero downtime for refrigerators and lab devices, and reduced its diesel generator use by 90%.
The solar system now supports nighttime deliveries, vaccine storage, and emergency care — a major milestone in healthcare access for the region.
